BAMS?

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a 5.5 years long duration course in which the students will be studying 4.5 years of BAMS degree and also will undergo one-year mandatory internship to become a registered ayurvedic doctor. The BAMS covers the study of the integrated system of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. The main aim of the course is to provide students with the basic education in Ayurveda and its related fields. The course also prepares the students with the basic education and knowledge in Ayurvedic Science and its application for different health studies and problems.

Ayurveda is considered as one of the oldest systems of medicine and the roots from its traces are indicated from vedic times. The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a 5.5-years long graduate degree. The students will study 4.5 years of BAMS degree and will also undergo one-year mandatory internship.

Eligibility

The basic eligibility for the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is that the students should have completed their PUC or 10+2 with English, PCB or CBZ with 50% aggregate in all the subjects from the recognised board for general category students and 45% aggregate for OBC/SC/ST students. The eligible students should apply and qualify the NEET entrance exam to get admission to the BAMS program.

    The BAMS course is offered at both Government University and Private Universities recognised under Central Council of Indian Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
